Today marks the culmination of months of relentless effort, discipline, and transformation for the Marines of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. What began as a group of individuals from different backgrounds has become a unified formation of United States Marines, bound together by shared hardship, commitment, and honor. January 16, 2026 LIVE NOW
From the first moments on the yellow footprints, these recruits were challenged mentally, physically, and morally. They were stripped of comfort and familiarity and introduced to the standards that define a Marine. Through long days, sleepless nights, and constant correction, they learned that perfection is not expected, but effort and integrity are non-negotiable. Every challenge was designed to forge resilience and to instill the values of honor, courage, and commitment.
Charlie Company faced the same trials that have shaped generations of Marines before them. They learned to work as a team when individual strength was no longer enough. On the drill field, they mastered precision and discipline. In the classroom, they absorbed the history and traditions of the Corps. In the field, they proved their determination under stress, fatigue, and pressure. Each obstacle reinforced the lesson that Marines never quit and never leave one another behind.
This transformation did not happen alone. The drill instructors of 1st Recruit Training Battalion set the conditions for success through unwavering standards and constant leadership. Their demanding presence pushed recruits beyond perceived limits and showed them what right looks like. Though often unyielding, their purpose was clear: to prepare these Marines for the realities of service and combat, where lives depend on discipline and trust.
Families and loved ones also played an essential role in this journey. Their support, letters, and encouragement provided strength during moments of doubt. Today’s graduation is not only a victory for the Marines standing on the parade deck, but also for those who stood behind them every step of the way.January 16, 2026
As Charlie Company earns the title Marine, the journey does not end; it begins. These Marines will carry forward the legacy of those who came before them, serving in units across the Fleet and around the world. They will be tested again, but they are ready.
Today, we recognize their achievement, their sacrifice, and their commitment to something greater than themselves. Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, you have earned the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. Welcome to the ranks of the United States Marines.January 16, 2026
